We generally book school tours during class time in order to give you a good sense of how the Montessori classroom really works.
You are more than welcome to bring your child when you visit.
Each new elementary student must undergo an assessment to determine their needs and whether or not our school would be a good fit.
Assessments will be scheduled by the Principal. Your child will spend some time with the teacher, and often visit for one or two days. This allows them an oppourtunity to meet us and feel comfortable in our setting. We believe that this helps provide confidence for a smooth transition.
We do need a copy of previous report cards and any test results that you may have received. This gives us a sense of whether our school can meet your child's needs.
It is important for us to meet both parents whenever possible. In order for your child to have success at school a strong relationship between school and home needs to be forged.
The family interview is scheduled by the principal and is an opportunity to determine whether our philosophy is congruent with your own and to answer more detailed questions about the school year.
Once your application is approved, the last step is to complete the necessary paperwork for registering your child and welcoming them to our school.
Paperwork includes your application form, emergency contact info, and a parent consent form. You will also be given a parent orientation handbook to familiarize yourself with our school policies, important dates, etc.
